I'm Dr. Kara Whitman, currently serving as the Lead for Outreach, Global Grant Partnerships, and Business Diversity. Over the past eleven years, I've dedicated myself to working with non-governmental and non-profit organizations across the United States and the Middle East and North Africa region. My work has primarily focused on leading research and engagement in areas such as intergovernmental development coordination, humanitarian information and knowledge management systems, and exploring network perspectives of emergency adult education and livelihoods. My approach to engagement is both comparative and multi-sectoral. I'm passionate about facilitating the sharing of best practices and lessons learned among network partners within the workforce development, leadership, and training ecosystem. I've also been involved in assessments, performance monitoring, and reporting activities. These efforts aim to ensure coherence between global agreements and inclusive practices, enhance public-private partnerships, foster trust in feedback and complaints mechanisms, broaden career pathways, and support the rule of law, all with the goal of addressing equity gaps. Now, in my new role, I'm focusing on writing about the investments, regulations, and networks that aim to enhance the success of and access to new technologies. This is particularly important in public service agencies and humanitarian contexts. I'm especially interested in the diversity implications of artificial intelligence in adult, global, and emergency education settings. My experience has been instrumental in program design and evaluation, guiding decisions on structures, resources, systems, and relationships to resolve equity gaps effectively.
