Author: Dr. Stephanie Suesan Smith

I am Stephanie Suesan Smith, PhD., a Master Gardener from Dallas, Texas. I've been passionate about gardening for more years than I care to mention. I began gardening as soon as I could stick an onion start in the ground. My father taught me to grow things to eat, and that has become my specialty. I am a member of the Texas Master Gardeners Association and the Dallas County Master Gardener Association. I have advanced training in growing vegetables and entomology. I was honored to be awarded the 2014 Master Gardener of the Year for Hunt County, Texas. I have been involved in tech since helping my Dad program a computer he built pre-Commodore 64. I keep up with technology but am not a programmer. I was first published by a national magazine in 1990 and have since been published in several periodicals and on numerous websites. Articles and technical papers in psychology make up the balance of my periodical publications. I have also written a book on vegetable gardening. I received a B.S. in psychology from Texas Christian University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in psychology from Texas A&M University. Currently, I reside in Dallas with my toy poodle, Jewel.
